“Stand down brothers, he’s a friend. You are right? I’d hate to have you in my home if you’re not. You see,” Smoke began as he directed the Detective to a chair by the fire. “My home is beyond those trees there, and my wife and daughter live there. I would protect them to my last breath so if you have any unfriendly intentions here I will put a big, fat hole right between your eyes and I won’t hesitate. Not even a little bit and trust me Detective nobody would find your body.” From the look on his face the Detective believed every word.

Jace hadn’t come here with any nefarious purposes, he truly wanted the scum cleansed from his department and he wanted Wisha back on vice where she belonged. She should have never been disciplined to that extreme but they knew she was smart and it wouldn’t have taken much time before she had it all figured out.

“No Sir, I was invited to have a beer. I wouldn’t have come into your house with any kind of agenda. And Bones what the fuck happened to you! That looks an awful lot like a gunshot.” The Detective was observant, but of course he was. He wouldn’t have made a gold shield without being good at his job.

Bones proceeded to explain how after he and Smoke parted company he rode to Wisha’s house and had almost made his destination when it happened. His arm was still in the sling and he was still popping pain pills but it had only been three days. Washing down Percocets with beer was a serious no no, one he always scolded his patients about but here he was doing exactly what he told them not to.

He knew his woman would chew his ass later but right now he didn’t care. Wisha was with Peyton probably telling the Queen what a giant pain in the ass he was.

“So Jace, some things have come to light and I have a feeling you’re not going to be happy about them.” Bones told him about the dope being sold on the streets and where exactly it was coming from. The look on Jace Morrison’s face was a definite Kodak moment.

“The fucking cartel! Jesus H Christ, you people really know how to party. What the fuck are we supposed to do with the cartel? My department doesn’t have that kind of firepower!” No, most small town police didn’t have that kind of armament. But Smoke did and he and Bones were about to lay out a plan to Detective Morrison.

Bones noticed the similarities between Jace and Rennie. The only thing missing from Morrison was the scar on his face, otherwise they could have been brothers. That could work out to their advantage. If the Devil’s could do some business with any of these five, Jace could sub for Ren and get the evidence he needed. Smoke explained it all including how Jace was going to have to get his hands dirty.

He reached for the bourbon Smoke had been hoarding and took a heavy draw from the bottle. He looked at Bones and then to Smoke. This was the only way go, he knew that but doing it was going to really piss the Detective off.

Jace had busted his ass to become a cop, he’d put in ten years and with all this he wasn’t sure it was worth it anymore. Nodding and letting out a heavy sigh, it was done.

“If this goes bad and I lose my badge, you guys need any new recruits?” He answered with a snort. Jace had a bad feeling about this, not the Devil’s. No he felt nothing but comradery with them. Bones had said family and after meeting them and seeing everything, Jace Morrison believed it. His bad feeling came from his gut. Not everyone was going to be walking away from this one. He just hoped he wasn’t among the casualties.

Wisha drove Bones home after the meeting, silently laughing at him. He had most definitely had way too much beer, and combining them with the painkillers he had been popping he was hilarious.

“ Angel baby, my cock hurts. Touch me like you did last night.” He told her with his head back on the seat of her red Miata. Wisha knew how drunk he was but she still wanted to do exactly what he was asking for.

“Nothing has ever felt that good and we didn’t even fuck.” He trailed off and was soon lightly snoring. She wondered how getting him from the car to the house was going to work with him in such an inebriated state so instead of struggling she made a call.

“Hi it’s Wisha , yes everything is okay, I just need some help with the patient. Seems he had more beer than he should have. Yes thank you, see you soon.” She pulled up to his house and her saving grace was there waiting, Slinger.

“Hey pretty lady, how bad is he? When I took off he seemed okay.” She pointed and let him look for himself. Slinger let out a full on belly laugh. His brother was hammered and drooling in between God awful snores. There would have been no way she could have done this on her own, so Slinger threw him over his shoulder and carried him inside.

“Where do you want him?” Wisha directed him to Bone’s bedroom and Slinger deposited him on the bed in a none too gentle fashion. Bones never even stirred. Slinger helped himself to a beer from Bone’s refrigerator, popping the cap and taking a long draw from the bottle. He and Wisha stood in the living room just chatting while he was finishing his beer when it happened. The bay window exploded into thousands of tiny shards scattering in every direction.

“Down!” Slinger screamed as he shoved Wisha to the floor. He had his Colts out and as the bullets flew past both of them he returned fire. Wisha had her Glock and did the same but Slinger was a faster shooter. Duel wielding, he was covering more ground and creating cover. Bullets whizzed in both directions, the sofa they were using as cover was almost decimated. Slinger flipped the coffee table on its side and kept firing.

“Call Smoke! We need backup now! I don’t have much more ammo!” Wisha did what she was asked and as she hung up Bones appeared at her side with two more forty-five autos and half a dozen fully loaded magazines.

“ These fuckers gotta die! This is my home God Dammit!” Bones yelled as he passed the clips. He had no idea who was doing the shooting but at that point it didn’t matter, they had crossed the line. His home was his refuge and someone had invaded his space. Bones was pissed and nobody was going to be safe. He was fumbling for his phone, trying to call out in the midst of the chaos.

“We called Smoke already.” Wisha said over the sound of gunfire. He knew that, he wanted the Detective. Someone was bound to call the cops and he wanted a friendly on the scene. They both saw Slinger make a run for the door, wondering if he’d lost his mind until they heard it. The unmistakable rumble of a dozen Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Smoke and Renegade rode in the direction of the shooting, hoping to find whoever had started this. By the time they found the spot, whomever it was had taken off.

“Fucking shit boss, I was itching for some fun!” Renegade had that sadistic grin that was only his. Smoke knew Rennie and he had a feeling Ren was looking for blood. Renegade was the craziest of them all. He had seen him in action more than once and he was definitely the one to bring when you needed someone not afraid of a little blood.

Bones was furious, screaming obscenities and throwing what was left of his living room against the wall. This was rage mixed with fear. Wisha had been in the line of fire and had she been hit nothing in the world would have stopped him. The carnage would have rivaled anything Hitler could have done.

“Bones.” Smoke was through what remained of the front door, surveying the damages. He stood shaking his head knowing exactly how Bones was feeling. Smoke remembered all too well when Skinny sent his goons to destroy his cabin. Smoke had never been that mad in his entire adult life, top that off with the fear of losing Peyton and he himself had lost it.

“You need somewhere safe man, this obviously ain’t it. Pack and head north, you’re in no shape to help and no need to put your woman in anymore danger than she’s in.” Bones knew Smoke was right, but it stung a little knowing he wasn’t capable of keeping Wisha safe at the moment.

“Ink man, you need to take Bones old lady to pack for the cabin, bring your truck back because you’re going with them. He can’t shoot well enough yet and we don’t take chances with our women like that.”

Slinger knew that, it was an unwritten law to protect your woman. Not that Wisha couldn’t hold her own, but l
ately there had been too many close calls. Too many bullets sailing in too many

directions and they all knew if something catastrophic happened to Wisha, Bones would be unstoppable.

Slinger left with Wisha as the

Detective arrived. Jace wasn’t sure where to start and he was flabbergasted no one had called this in. He and Smoke along with Bones started pulling bullet

fragments from anything and everything. Almost every piece of furniture he had was riddled with bullets. Smoke had Moody, Slick and Knuckles dealing with the outside. Renegade had gone back to the spot where the shooter had been to see what he could come up with.

“We can’t even be sure who did the shooting with the cartel involved, this is truly fucked up you know that right.” The Detective said as they continued to pull bullets and fragments from nearly

everything in sight. All three men agreed on that, either way it all lead back to Jefé.

  Love Shack

Slinger drove the highway towards the cabin. Bones sat next to him still fuming as Wisha slept in the back seat. Both men knew how exhausted she was from playing babysitter to Bones.

“Dammit Ink Man, I fucking hate this shit! I’m God damned helpless right now! Can’t even protect her!” Bones was furious about everything that had

happened and he needed something, he just didn’t know what it was.

Slinger understood to a degree. He himself didn’t have a lady in his life but he would do anything for Peyton. She was his Queen and his best friend. Slinger knew he would die if it meant Peyton was safe. Smoke and Peyton inspired him to be a better man and Slinger thought it was happening, each day he changed just a little. Even Smoke had mentioned it on more than one occasion.

Slinger had been up to the cabin a few times since his injury, being alone in the pines helped him think. He was hopeful it would do the same for Bones. He knew his brother was mad as a hornet, but more so, he was in love. Slinger saw in Bones eyes what he had seen in Smokes. The eyes said it all, Bones had found his one and Slinger was happy for him. Now they just had to stay alive and deal with all the shit going on.

When they arrived, Bones showed Wisha around while Slinger checked security. He walked her down to the stream where Smoke had made all of his confessions to Peyton.

“This place here is something special, I can’t explain it but the cabin has some sort of special mojo. I hope it has that effect on you. I really do love you Wisha, and that scares me.” Bones had her hand as they walked along the water. Loving her was the best thing that ever happened to him, but also the most frightening. He truly understood why Smoke had gone off the deep end when it came to Peyton. Bones was still internally shaking about Wisha being in the line of fire.

“Zeke I can already feel whatever this place has, and you’re right; it is special. When all of this is over I’m quitting, gonna turn in my badge and walk away.” He stopped cold and stared at her.

“What! Why Angel? You love your job, why would you quit?” He was right, she did love it but that was before she met him. Before she understood the bad guys weren’t always the bad guys and that was before she fell in love. Wisha had fallen hard for what she thought was the enemy, the criminal, the bad guy. Bones was none of those things, he was her man. She knew they all did things that weren’t legal, but so did half of her department.

“Because Zeke, I can’t do it anymore. I feel like a hypocrite. I’m worried about the men in my department breaking the law and here I am hopelessly in love with you.”

Bones jaw hit the dirt, she had just said she loved him. He pulled her close and just held her against his chest and lightly kissed her temple. The cabin mojo had started.

The three ate dinner at Smokes favorite little pub, any of the Devil’s were always welcome there. Wisha was

starving, it had been hours since they’d eaten but the men seemed happy just to pick on their food while drinking beer and bullshitting. She however inhaled a double cheeseburger and fries. Both Bones and Slinger watched in disbelief how a tiny woman could eat so much.

“What?” She said with a mouthful of food. Bones just shook his head laughing. He knew without any doubt she really did belong to him. Wisha was the Angel that would forever save his soul.

Bones took off his sling, he was determined to play pool with his brother no matter how much it hurt, or how badly he was about to get beat. None of that mattered, you didn’t come to the Red Barn and not play pool. Bones lost the first game and Wisha watched as he and Slinger trash talked to each other. These were just two overgrown children in men’s bodies. Bones would look her way every once in a while and wink, that made her smile and feel the butterflies in her stomach. Wisha felt the love he had for her, and she wasn’t afraid of it anymore. Bones had broken down all her defenses without even trying.

They arrived back at the cabin just short of midnight and Wisha had gone down to her room to get ready for bed. It had been a long day and Bones didn’t ask her to stay with him so she climbed in and turned off the lights.

It was under ten minutes before she felt a body slide in next to her. “ Angel, please baby I need you.” He said as his lips found hers. Bones tongue gently pushing on her lips, asking for entrance. She didn’t deny him, she couldn’t. Wisha wanted him as badly as he wanted her. When his lips left hers he started a slow trail starting behind her ear and down her neck, unbuttoning her pajamas. Bones nibbled and nipped in between kisses and Wisha was making soft moans as he continued down

between her breasts stopping at her bellybutton. There was a piercing in it and his teeth couldn’t help but pull on it as he rolled her nipples between his fingers. He was moaning in time with her, his was from anticipation of where his mouth was going next.

As he pushed the flannel bottoms down he couldn’t help but salivate in anticipation. Wisha had a tiny strip of auburn curls and Bones had to smell her, taste her. As he made the juncture of her thighs he was high from the pheromones she was excreting. As her legs parted for him, Bones could do nothing but admire her beauty.

“Fuck Angel, you’re so beautiful.” He told her as his tongue snaked out to taste. Wisha shuddered at his touch, and he knew one taste would never be enough. Bones sunk two fingers into her warmth and began slowly sending her over. He was gently pushing while sucking on her clit, which was a perfect hard little nub and it was all for him. Bones lay feasting on her pussy like it was his last meal. The sweetest meal he’d ever eaten, sweet like sugar cane. The more his tongue lapped at her clit and his fingers sunk in, the closer she slipped and the wetter she became. As her breathing staggered, he knew. She was there, all she needed was one push to hit Nirvana. Bones added a third finger and that was all that was needed. Wisha was yelling his name and coming off the bed. Bones held her down, continuing to drink her in while the aftershocks rocked her body.

He climbed up her body, leaving her on his face. He didn’t want to part with her flavor just yet. That and Wisha was so sweet she needed to know how she tasted.

“Zeke,” she choked out, “Your stitches.” He shook his head, he didn’t care about that. All Bones wanted to was sink his cock deep inside the woman he loved. And that’s exactly what he did. He was as hard as he’d ever been and with her soaking wet, her body swallowed his and at that moment two souls merged.

Wisha gasped at the pleasurable invasion, Bones fit like they were created for one another. He set the pace, a slow, deep thrust that had Wisha panting within minutes. He stretched her, and nothing had ever burned in such an erotic way. With each push of Bones body she whimpered in his ear, wrapping her legs around him to pull him closer. There wasn’t even air separating them, Bones and Wisha were as physically close as two people got.

He wasn’t gentle, but his dominant side stayed dormant. All Bones wanted was to claim his woman properly, so she knew in the deep recesses of her soul who she belonged to. His thrust was becoming rougher, and he was fighting himself to not come, to not give in and let his body take over. Her channel was as
smooth as glass and as soft as the Angel wings he was sure she had. Wisha was still

moaning in his ear, louder as he thrust until she couldn’t wait any longer. Her body took over and the white blinding light clouded her vision as her body rocketed with ecstasy. She was loud, but Bones was louder as his seed spilled and he shouted her name.

“ Angel, fuck!” was all he could muster as his orgasm was at its peak. He felt the throbbing of his cock long after he had emptied himself in her. Bones didn’t pull out, he lay propped over her kissing her lips, eyelids and cheeks. From her eyes he knew what had just happened, it was a silent commitment. Neither one thought words were needed, they knew where their destiny lay.

  Chasing Roaches

Smoke had sent his Prospect and Nix back down to the border hoping they could come up with something, anything that would give them some idea how Jefé was crossing into the US and the two hit pay dirt. One of the ranchers had noticed his fence line had been tampered with and trash had been found. At first he thought it was some of the teenagers going across to drink but when Rory and Nix explained a few things the poor man understood. Jonas Fletcher was the rancher and he was absolutely flabbergasted that a prominent member of the cartel was using his property to sneak into the states undetected.

Rory called Smoke to update his President on the goings on down at the border and at that point he decided this would be where Baphomet’s Bloods would be best used. Smoke had Renegade call Cyclops and give them all the pertinent information they would need, including the fact that Nix and Rory would be joining the party. Smoke knew blood was going to be shed, it was inevitable so he had Rory give the rancher some cash to stay away for a week or so and let the boys use his home. Jonas Fletcher had a wife and children that did not need to be in the line of fire.
